Cindy Macnab!

Cindy is pleased to return to the DIY Stage at Showcase this year after her successful presentations last year. Her business, Daysville Designs is a furniture painting business where she not only paints furniture and other home decor items, she does workshops and also sells the fabulous Canadian paint line, Fusion Mineral Paint. She has led the way in this area to people discovering how wonderful this paint is not just for furniture, but for kitchen cabinets, outside furniture, even glass and metal! She has taken numerous courses to learn her craft and is always happy to share whatever she has learned.

Cindy is offering sessions at the DIY stage, including a Cabinet Painting Demonstration which will take you through the proper prep, painting tips as well as glazes and topcoats so you can love your cabinets again. You will be amazed at how you can take your outdated cupboards and make them beautiful with minimal cost. In addition, she will be also running sessions on Furniture Painting- What’s New? Where she will demonstrate a wide variety of techniques and products and talk about what the new trends are with furniture painting. Her demonstrations may include decoupage, transfers, embossed stencils, metallics and more. She always has something new to pass on to her customers!

Fusion Mineral Paint is available through her at Daysville Designs in Lloydminster and now at St. Walburg Liquor Store. Follow her on facebook or instagram @Daysville Designs and be sure to stop by her booth where the paint and other goodies will be on display.

Lakeland College!
We are excited to welcome Rochelle Horne with students from Lakeland and their expertise!

In 2000, Lakeland’s Interior Design Technology two year diploma program became the first program in Canada to be accredited by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), a North American non-profit group that promotes professionalism in the kitchen and bath industry. The Interior Design Technology program was awarded the 2017 NKBA College of the Year Award, selected as the top program among 43 other degree and diploma programs across North America.  Lakeland students have placed in the NKBA student competitions for 15 consecutive years, winning over $93,000 US in scholarships. Based at the Vermilion campus, the program has earned 6 Excellence in Education Awards from the NKBA.

The second year students invite people to submit their interior design problems. The students will select a few of the problems and provide a solution live on the stage.  Submit your design problem to instructor rochelle.horne@lakelandcollege prior to March 1, 2019.

Our students will present on design trends, highlighting both kitchen and bath spaces, from information gathered from their studies, private showroom tours in Calgary as well as attending Design Week in Toronto.

Follow the students and the program on Facebook @LakelandIDT or on their Instagram account @lakelandidt.
